KÜNZEL Wood pellet boilers

How does the PK series differ from the products of your competitors?

The PK series is quick to install, simple to service, easy to operate and highly reliable. The design is based on well thought-out functionality without any technical frippery.

How do pellets compare with heating oil?

2 kg of pellets have the heating value of 1 liter of heating oil.

How “loud” is the PK when it is running?

The PK is quieter than an oil boiler. Only the transport of the wood pellets from the main storage to the integrated storage tank on the boiler causes a rattling sound. However, this can be reduced to a short period of time once a day. The operator determines the time of this process.

Can the power of the PK be regulated?

Yes! The PK runs at full boiler power until the set boiler temperature has been reached. The PK then automatically switches to partial load mode. If the boiler temperature drops below this threshold value, the PK automatically switches back to full power. In partial load mode, the power can be decreased to around 10 kW. Just like any other wood boiler, the PK also reaches its optimal values in full load mode; a buffer accumulator of 500 liters is thus also recommended here.

Is the FD fan always running?

No, only when the burner is running.

Does the PK series also come in other power levels?

Besides the available devices with 10, 15 and 20 kW, a 40 kW boiler is also planned for 2009.

How strong is the outer heating of the device?

Except for the burner door, almost no heat escapes from the boiler surface.

Can the device be installed on the floor or in the utility room?

Yes! The compact design, the storage tank and the low internal heat dissipation permit these applications.

What do I do in the event of an error message on the control panel?

Please consult the operating manual for the control panel for the correct behavior in the event of an error on the control panel display.

What can I do against slag formation?

Almost never is the wood boiler the cause, but rather the quality and the size of the pellets. Please only use high-quality wood pellets.
